"I think people who truly can live a life in music are telling the world, 'You can have my love, you can have my smiles. Forget the bad parts, you don't need them. Just take the music, the goodness, because it's the very best, and it's the part I give most willingly'."
– George Harrison
Music and photography, for me, go hand in hand; marrying two of my greatest interests together to create something truly memorable. Inspired by the music photographers of the 1960s who worked with grainy black and white film, I work discreetly to capture the juxtaposition between the quiet contemplation of backstage and the mania and pizazz of performance.

"Working with Karina Lyburn was an absolute pleasure; she was professional, personable and well able to judge the mood of the band. Karina's approach was neither too distracting nor too distant which resulted in some wonderfully natural photos both on and backstage."
- The Sons of Pitches, winners of BBC2's 'The Naked Choir'

“Music is probably the only real magic I have encountered in my life. There's not some trick involved with it. It's pure and it's real. It moves, it heals, it communicates and does all these incredible things.”
– Tom Petty
